World Premiere of "Ominous Machine" with L'Arc Trio

In a partnership with CA Biennial Festival, this Chamber Music Tuesday features SFCM alumni ensemble L'Arc Trio in performance with students. The concert also features two new and exciting works by Bay Area composers Jonathan Bingham and Vivian Fung, as well as one of Ernest Bloch's greatest chamber music works. Fung’s piano trio Ominous Machine was written for the L’Arc Trio and the performance will be a world premiere. Emerging Black Composers Project winner Jonathan Bingham wrote his string quartet Pareidolia in 2022 for the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra.

World Premiere of "Ominous Machine ii" for Two Pianos and Percussion

Vivian Fung’s premiere of her Network commissioned work Ominous Machine ii for 2 pianos and 2 percussionists headlines our final concert of the season. Along with it are works for violin and piano by Fung and James Lee’s Lament.Sing.Arise. Pianist Dynasty Battles joins Network for a performance of Ted Hearne’s Study Buddy. Network is incredibly proud to partner with the Wildflower Composers Camp - a program devoted to fostering young women and non-binary composers - by featuring alum Danity Pike’s Cassandra for clarinet, cello, and piano!
